Your kitchen. Your business.
Privacy, plainly.

Mealbench is a native recipe app for Mac and iPhone. Your recipes are personal. Our approach is to keep them under your control.
Your app and recipe collection
Your recipes and personal app data are managed on your devices and through your own iCloud account. Optional assistant connections also use a server copy of your library, as described below.
Apple services and purchases
Apple manages your iCloud account and App Store purchases under its own terms and privacy practices. Mealbench does not receive your payment card information. You manage purchases, Family Sharing, and iCloud settings through Apple.
Optional assistant connections
You can connect Mealbench to ChatGPT (including Codex, which connects as ChatGPT) and to Claude. While an assistant is connected, Mealbench keeps a copy of your library on its servers so the assistant can search and read it. That copy holds your recipes, including ratings, favourites, notes and photos, along with your collections, meal plans and grocery list. The assistant sends requests for changes, and your Mealbench app applies them when it is open. Requested changes are stored with the server copy until your app applies them.
To run the connection, Mealbench also stores a random ID for your library and for each device, when each device and connection was last used, and sign-in records. A sign-in code works for 10 minutes; an assistant’s access lasts an hour and renews for up to 30 days of use. Server logs are kept for 3 to 7 days. They record what kind of request was made and whether it worked, never the text of your recipes or what you typed, and no IP addresses. The server copy is hosted by Cloudflare. Mealbench does not sell this information or use it for advertising.
Disconnect assistants in Settings › Connect. After disconnecting the last assistant, you can delete the server copy from that screen. Your library on your devices and in iCloud is untouched. Read the connection privacy FAQs.
If you choose to use Mealbench with ChatGPT or Claude, the prompts, photos, recipes, and other information you share in that conversation are handled by the provider you choose. Its terms and privacy policy apply. Using these connections is optional.
This website
The Mealbench marketing website uses Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics. This helps us understand website visits and how people use the site. Google Analytics may process page views, interactions, device and browser information, IP addresses, and cookies or similar identifiers. This website analytics setup is separate from the Mealbench app: it does not access your recipes or iCloud library, and these website analytics tags are not in the app. Fonts and product images are served with the site. The hosting provider may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and protect the website.
Email updates and support
If you choose to sign up for launch updates, your email address and consent are processed through Brevo, our email service. The signup form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent spam. These services may process technical information needed to provide the form. You can unsubscribe using the link in an update email.
If you contact us, we receive the information you send and use it to respond. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details, or private iCloud information.
Your choices
You can edit, delete, print, or export your recipes in the app, manage iCloud through Apple, choose whether to use an AI connection, and unsubscribe from email updates. Export one recipe or your collection as PDF, HTML, or Markdown.
